Promotions Through The Credit Crunch…
The fact that marketing budgets are still being spent is a very good indication that companies are focusing a good deal of effort on ensuring that contact is maximized with clients and that really most industry sectors are resisting with all their might at being dragged into a credit crunch by the few that truly are. However, uncertainty does breed nervousness and we appreciate that this is a time when companies are not looking to go mad on promotional gifts, giveaways and spend mega bucks on these. There are always alternative business gifts and these can not only satisfy the “money-(wo)men” in terms of the reduced spend, but can have as good an impact on the client. Flash drives are continuing to come down in price and even if you have purchased these previously, the same memory sized drive may be considerably cheaper and the client will appreciate your continued value added gift. Alternatively, look at a lower memory drive for your next purchase and you will still be giving a well received gift, but your spend will be less. In terms of promotional pens, the vast choice means there is always a cheaper option. If you had a Parker Pen last time, look at the metal pens section. If you had a Prodir mid range pen last time, why not check out the plastic pens range. The quality of the leather look items (such as conference folders etc) can be unnoticed to the untrained eye and is still a gift that is well received. The price difference if you have always taken a full leather conference, to either a bonded leather version of a PU conference folder is considerable and it might provide the opportunity to maintain the level of spend, but purchase a higher quantity to be given to a larger audience (speculate on increased business). Finally it would always be worth looking at year round gifts such as pocket diaries or the ever-popular confectionery selection – gifts and giveaways that have the required impact, but don’t break the bank (they are doing a good enough job of that themselves!!!!)
