How to Create Your Virtual Sample

We are delighted to make available a virtual sampling tool for use by all visitors to the Steel City Marketing website.  Below are full instructions on how this can be accessed and used. (Please note these steps should only be followed once the accompanying notes below have been fully read).

Look out for the "add your logo" icon on each product page. Clicking on this will take you straight into the virtual sample tool for your chosen product.

If the product image has a logo on it, this can easily be removed. Simply follow the instructions on the right of the screen by "outlining" the logo already on the item.
Once you are happy that you have outlined the logo and it has been removed, click "continue"
Click either "Place art" to add a logo or "Place text" just to add text to the product

To add your own logo to this product, click "Upload art to this folder" -

Then select whether you want to create a portfolio or just proceed without creating one.

Browse your folder for your logo and click "upload".

Click "place art" which will add the logo and open the edit box.

Tick the “clear white" box to make the logo transparent.

Click "Scale" and move the corners of the logo to size. move the logo around by clicking and dragging.

Use the rotate "icon" to position the logo correctly

Click "scew" if you need to add perspective to the logo on the product.

Click on the image to remove the editor and check over your creation before saving or emailing

Click email and send the virtual sample to yourself

or

Click "jpeg" (bottom left) - then in the new window, "right click", "save as" to save it.


The virtual sample tool can be used on any product on the Steel City Marketing website and with any logo you may wish to add. The above instructions cover each process in a step by step "how to" guide. If you are having problems or cannot get this to work, please contact a member of the sales team or the studio who will talk you through it. We hope you will enjoy getting creative and having a bit of fun at the same time.

Please note that this tool is for visual purposes only and cannot be used as full artwork or as a proofing stage of the production process.
All products have set marking / imprint areas and some are also limited in terms of the number of print colours and the branding techniques possible. Please therefore contact a member of the sales team for advice if you are unsure about anything to do with Virtual Samples.
Should you require an accurate visual – our full in-house studio is always available. This is the safest option if you are in any doubt as to the feasibility of what you are trying to achieve.
Only fully editable vector graphic files (.eps for example) can be used so therefore the supply of a virtual sample does not constitute final artwork. Upon opening the file should your design need any work doing by our studio (even setting to the correct print area), there may be a charge for this work.
