…to everyone who took part in and embraced our #CoffeeCupPledge campaign which we ran throughout September this year. We were thrilled with the positive response to the campaign as well as lots of fantastic interactions on social media.

54 people took part in the pledge and collectively we saved approximately 510 disposable cups from going to landfill and £146.85 in discounts!  We genuinely feel like the campaign has made a difference not only in reducing disposable cups going to landfill but also to people’s attitudes about purchasing a coffee in a disposable cup.

After the 30 day pledge, many of the participants we spoke to commented that by having a travel mug, they actually had more coffees from home or the office rather than going to a coffee shop or cafe – saving money and time!

As an extra thank you to everyone who got involved in our #CoffeeCupPledge we are going to match the £146.85 of discounts saved, round up to £150 and donate to two local charities – our chosen charity The Children’s Hospital Charity and Refurnish, a charity which salvages and reuses furniture rather than it going to landfill.

We asked our #CoffeeCupPledge applicants to post a selfie with the how much they saved throughout the pledge – our BEST final selfie was by Thomas Reaney – come on that is a pretty awesome selfie!! Thomas will be awarded with a £10 voucher for his chosen coffee shop – nice one!
